Our families descend from the PILGRIMS, PURITANS & ADVENTURERS who settled early New England, with a little bit of early Canada thrown in for good measure.
WALTER PALMER of Yetminster, Dorset, England, was a non-conformist who came with the Winthrop Fleet in 1629 to Massachusetts. He was a founder of Stonington, Connecticut, where he died in 1661. The yellow house to the right is that of Walter's grandson William Palmer. It still stands today in North Stonington.
JOHN HOWARD arrived in Duxbury, Massachusetts, about 1635 and was a tavernkeeper in Bridgewater until his death in 1700.
